Missing three Big Ten games apparently did nothing to deter conference coaches from honoring senior wide receiver Eric Decker with a first team All-Big Ten selection just minutes ago. One of the most accomplished receivers in Gophers history, Decker’s season and career ended after a left foot injury during Minnesota’s trip to Ohio State in late October. He missed conference games against Michigan State, Illinois and Iowa but had impressive statistics prior to the injury. It is Decker’s second straight first team All-Big Ten recognition.
Also on the coaches team, senior linebackers Lee Campbell and Simoni Lawrence and senior cornerback Traye Simmons were named honorable mention. The media selected Decker, Campbell, Simmons, senior tight end Nick Tow-Arnett and junior kicker Eric Ellestad all as honorable mention.
