Carlson alumnus joins Foundation

Daniel B. Marcotte will become Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the $550 million University of Minnesota Foundation on Sept. 1.
Marcotte is a MBA graduate from the University’s Carlson School of Management and will help to guide the finances of the Foundation, which raises and manages private support for the University.
“Dan is coming to the Foundation with outstanding qualifications and abilities in the area of financial management,” said Gerald B. Fischer, Foundation president and CEO.
“During his period of growth in private giving, Dan’s expertise will be critical in ensuring that gifts are well-managed, so they help create new levels of excellence in the University’s teaching, research and outreach.”
Marcotte received his bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College. He has co-chaired the Carlson School Alumni Advisory Board and chaired the Carlson Alumni Council. He presently works as treasurer for Dain Rauscher, a company he has worked for since 1991. Marcotte also has been employed by Dayton Hudson Corp. and Peat Marwick, both in Minneapolis.
