A robbery was reported Tuesday afternoon near the
intersection of Riverside Avenue and Cedar Avenue South, just blocks from the
University of Minnesota’s West Bank campus, according to the University of
Minnesota Police Department.
The victim, who is not a student, was on the sidewalk around
1:30 p.m. when two suspects took his phone, according to a campus-wide email.
The victim was assaulted after he chased the suspects, the email said.
The victim was punched in the head and face, according to the
warning, and required medical attention. The suspects were last seen running
east.
The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the crime.
