Minnesota men’s basketball recruit Wesley Washington hopes to learn today whether his test scores will make him eligible for next semester, he said Saturday.
Washington, who took two standardized tests earlier this year, has been on campus since school began. He has been working out by himself and has a job in Minnetonka, Minn.
Washington, who was ill last week, hopes to start practicing with the team Dec. 16. At that point, he will have only missed seven games.
As a consensus top-100 recruit out of Mater Dei High School in Corona, Calif., Washington would add depth to the Gophers’ (1-1) backcourt, joining upperclassman starters Adam Boone and Ben Johnson.
Minnesota doesn’t play again until Nov. 30 against Furman University at Williams Arena.
