The RNC 8 will go to trial together, just as they had hoped. The news, viewed as a victory by the group, came in a recent ruling by Ramsey County Court Judge Teresa Warner. âÄúThis is an affirmation from Judge Warner of what weâÄôve argued all along: that separation for trial would have undermined the interest of justice in this case,âÄù co-defendant Luce Guillen-Givins said in a statement. The eight individuals, who are being charged with multiple felony counts for allegedly plotting to disrupt the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul more than a year ago, made the request for a joint trial in October, which the group said better represents their solidarity. A date has not yet been set for the next hearing.
