The Minnesota women’s rugby club team is on the verge of wrapping up a solid season. The Gophers have racked up an 11-1 record, including a 4-0 record in the Minnesota Central conference.
The Gophers steamrolled past Macalester 71-0 last Saturday to clinch a spot in this weekend’s Minnesota Final Four. The winner of the Final Four will represent the state at territorials — similar to regionals in other sports.
While Macalester is a rebuilding team, fans were treated to a show from Minnesota’s split lineup of veterans and rookies in the Macalester win.
Without a home field of their own, Minnesota will be playing at the Fort Snelling Polo Grounds for this weekend’s Final Four.
