Joe Coleman will transfer to St. Mary’s, ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported.
The former Gophers guard was released from his scholarship following his request to leave the program in May.
The 6-foot-4-inch guard scored 8.7 points per game while averaging 26 minutes for the Gophers last season.
Coleman will have to sit out the 2013-2014 season, but he still has two years of eligibility remaining.
He joins a Gaels squad that finished 28-7 last season and advanced to the NCAA tournament.
