Two robbed in Prospect Park

Neither was injured in the robbery.

Two people were robbed early Friday morning in Prospect Park near the intersection of 26th and University Avenues Southeast, according to a crime alert sent to University of Minnesota students, staff and faculty Friday.

Minneapolis police responded at about 2 a.m. to a call from the victims who were approached by two suspects asking for a cigarette, according to the crime alert. 

The suspects then pulled out a gun and asked for the victims’ belongings. The victims, who are not affiliated with the University, handed over their wallets and electronics. Neither victim was injured

Both suspects left the scene. The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the crime.
