MANKATO, Minn. (AP) âÄî The Minnesota Timberwolves have officially opened training camp in owner Glen Taylor’s hometown of Mankato. The Wolves held their first practice of the new season on Tuesday morning. Most of the session was spent installing defensive schemes and trying to ingrain a new commitment to that end of the floor. Coach Randy Wittman says he was pleased that all of the players participating showed up in good shape. Star forward Al Jefferson did some running on Tuesday, but doesn’t plan to do any contact for at least another week. Rookie Kevin Love jokes that his first official NBA practice was a success because he didn’t lose his breakfast during all of the conditioning drills. The Wolves will stay in Mankato through the weekend.
