University student robbed and assaulted on Green Line near campus

The victim in Monday’s incident required medical attention.

A University of Minnesota student was assaulted at the Stadium Village Green Line light rail station Monday, according to a campus-wide email sent Tuesday afternoon.

The victim was allegedly arguing with two males on the train while riding eastbound toward St. Paul around 4 p.m. When the victim got off the train in Stadium Village, the two suspects followed, assaulted him and took his cell phone.The victim required medical attention.

The two suspects were last seen fleeing east on University Avenue Southeast. The student was injured and required medical attention, according to the email.
