A man wielding two handguns robbed the Harvard Market located at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Ontario Street on Wednesday, University Police Chief Greg Hestness said. The robbery, which occurred just before 6:30 p.m., was the second business robbery of the school year. There were no arrests made as of press time, but the suspect was videotaped by security cameras, according to the police report. Despite the robbery taking place in broad daylight, in front of a busy Washington Avenue sidewalk, Hestness said the heist was not out of the ordinary. âÄúBusiness robberies take place when businesses are open,âÄù Hestness said. âÄúWhether itâÄôs daylight or dark, they happen on both occasions.âÄù University police were the first to respond to the scene, but were later relieved by Minneapolis police, who are continuing an investigation. The owner of the Harvard Market declined to comment.
