Fall street

Drivers park with caution. Today marks the beginning of fall street sweeping.
Minneapolis’ street maintenance division will begin clearing leaves and debris from city streets today and will continue to work through mid-November to cover the entire city.
The city will sweep the University area Oct. 27 through Oct. 30.
“No Parking” signs will be posted on the morning of the day before the sweeping begins. The signs will specify the day of the week the sweeping will occur.
Cars parked in violation of the signs will be ticketed and towed to the Minneapolis Municipal Impound Lot. Ticketing fees are $10, towing fees are $70, and the city will charge an additional $10 for every extra day of storage. The lot is open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. and is located at 51 Colfax Ave. For information on tickets and tows call 673-5777.
