Gophers volleyball places three on all-region team

The Minnesota volleyball team placed three players on the AVCA all-district 2 team for the secon consecutive season.
Senior outside hitter Nicole Branagh was named to the team for her third straight year. Junior setter Lindsey Berg and junior middle blocker Stephanie Hagen both were honored for the second year in a row.
Minnesota finished with a school-best 30-4 record on the season.
SOCCER
Gophers soccer player Alison Rackley was named to the NSCAA/Adidas all-Great Lakes region second team.
The junior midfielder from Birmingham, Michigan add the honor to the all-Big Ten first team selection she received in November.
Rackley led Minnesota with four assists and finished second on the squad with 46 shots on goal.
The postseason honors are the first of her Gophers career.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The Gophers women’s basketball team is on break through finals week. Minnesota next sees action when it travels to Poughkeepsie, NY, to take on the Red Foxes from Marist college.
Minnesota is 6-3 on the season and starts Big Ten conference play when it travels to Penn State on Dec. 28.
SWIMMING&DIVING
The Minnesota women’s swimming and diving team has finished its fall season. The two-time defending Big Ten champion Gophers won three dual meets, beating North Dakota, Florida Atlantic and Iowa State.
Minnesota finished first at the Minnesota invitational and 10th of 14 teams at the Texas intvitational.
