Obama’s Election Significant

I was overly ecstatic when my brother told me Obama had won the election. For Americans to choose someone who isnâÄôt your typical white male to become president says a lot about how much this nation wants change. I find it rather comforting to see society changing for the better because humans are known to be unwilling to adapt to change. I think partly the reason why is that most people believe things are good the way they are and are reluctant to seek new and better opportunities. In other words, this campaign says more than it ideally portrays. Yes, it has given rise to AmericaâÄôs first black president; no doubt about that but it further illustrates the idea that the possibility to move forward in a new direction is within our grasp.
