University of Minnesota Police apprehended five men, including three University students, after they attempted to climb over the TCF Bank Stadium fence early Saturday morning.
The 18- to 19-year-old men were all cited for minor consumption as well, according to a police report.
The men fled when officers approached them, but only made it to the far side of the stadium before stopping short once they saw the officersâÄô vehicles, University police Lt. Erik Swanson said.
âÄúIt appears that they initially fled and then must have decided at some point it wasnâÄôt worth it to keep going,âÄù Swanson said.
Samuel Forster told officers the men âÄúwere only climbing the fence to look at the stadium,âÄù according to Swanson.
âÄúThey probably wanted to see the interior of the stadium, I imagine,âÄù Swanson said.
All the men admitted to drinking âÄúrum and beer,âÄù and their blood-alcohol content levels ranged from .045 to .132, Swanson said.
The men were cited for minor consumption, but not trespassing.
Online harassment
Two 18-year-old University first years were harassed via the Internet by one of the studentâÄôs ex-boyfriends.
The man, Lou Khang, allegedly created âÄúa big page with pictures of random girlsâÄù for each of the women at Asiantown.net. The sites created the perception the two women âÄúwanted sexual relations with anyone who wanted anything,âÄù said one of the women, Kelly.
Asiantown.net is a social networking site popular with the Asian community, though its use has dwindled since the advent of Facebook, Kelly said.
She said Khang made the web pages last week in retaliation for the other victim breaking up with him about a month ago.
Kelly said she has received as many as 20 calls and numerous text messages a day as a result of the pages, which have now been taken down.
Because the case is still under investigation, Swanson declined to comment.
âÄúItâÄôs pretty much kind of just done now,âÄù Kelly said. âÄúWeâÄôre not really looking to press charges âĦ We just wanted him to stop because my phone has been going off like crazy.âÄù
