The University named military and emergency response expert Earl Juskowiak as director of emergency management Tuesday.
Juskowiak gained experience in the Minnesota National Guard and several years of emergency management and planning with the U.S. Army. He is also a faculty member at Hennepin Technical College.
Juskowiak’s department develops and implements emergency preparedness plans, as well as coordinates efforts between different public safety agencies in the event of a disaster.
The department works with all University campuses.
The emergency management department will also work with the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
