A University student was stabbed in an attempted robbery at approximately 9:40 p.m. Monday, according to a University police public safety alert. The student was hospitalized and is in stable condition, according to the alert. The robbery and stabbing occurred as the victim was jogging by 11th Avenue Southeast and Sixth Street Southeast. The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s, five feet six inches tall with a gray beard. He was wearing black jeans, a green jacket with white on the side and could have been wearing a white hooded sweatshirt underneath the coat at the time of the attack.
