Graduate student assistants are getting pumped up Monday for a union election.
The rally is to "show off the excitement" and broad support for an election to form a union for graduate assistants, which spokesman Scott Thaller said is expected to happen this semester. Rep. Keith Ellison, DFL, will also attend, Thaller said.
Graduate assistants filed for election with the Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services last month. The Bureau will decide when the election will be held.
The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Mississippi Room in Coffman Memorial Union.
