The University of Minnesota's athletic department announced Friday the selection of DLR Group as the design team and PCL as the general contractor for the construction of Gopher baseball's new Siebert Field.
This is an important step in advancing the replacement of the 40-year-old Siebert Field.
“Being able to announce this next step in the Siebert Field process is a great day for Gopher baseball,” head baseball coach John Anderson said in a statement. “Although we have not completed the fundraising process for a competitive Big Ten baseball facility, we are excited about this next step towards a new home.”
Gopher athletics also announced that it is beginning a grassroots fundraising campaign to help fund the new field. Gopher baseball supporters can now contribute at any monetary level to the Golden Gopher Fund.
