Today marks the first day in which the entirety of Netflix’s series, “House of Cards,” will be available for users. However it is worth noting that, like many American productions of late, this is a derivative of a foreign production, a four episode BBC show of the same name that aired in 1990. That “House of Cards” was itself based on a novel penned by a British politico. The American version follows narcissistic Francis Underwood (Kevin Spacey) as he moves and shakes his way through the D.C. landscape, leaving the bodies of his enemies strewn about him. The premiere is free to watch for all interested in a dark look at the nasty underbelly of politics.
