Minnesota jumped out to a 9-0 lead over Richmond at the game's start. The lead ballooned to as big as 14 points, but then the Spiders woke up.

Richmond went on a 24-9 run to briefly take a 37-36 lead, but Minnesota scored the final four points of the half to head into the locker room on top.

Andre Hollins leads the Gophers  with 13 buts, but he's shot just 3-for-10 from the field. Malik Smith has eight points coming off of the bench.

The Gophers are struggling from the charity stripe. They are just 6-14 from the free-throw line.

The rebounding battle is knotted at 21-21 through 20 minutes. The Gophers have handled the ball well, committing just two turnovers.
