The WNBA-champion Minnesota Lynx announced their exhibition schedule for the 2012 season – which includes one contest at the University of Minnesota’s Sports Pavilion.
“We have enjoyed playing exhibition games at Concordia College and the College of St. Benedict’s over the past three years,” Lynx Executive Vice President Roger Griffith said in a release. “The move to the University of Minnesota is an indication of the increased interest surrounding our team. Last year, we literally ran out of space at Concordia, and we are looking forward to a larger, even more enthusiastic crowd for this year’s preseason game.”
This will be the third time the Lynx have visited Minnesota’s campus; they played at the Pavilion previously in 2006 and Williams Arena in 2005.
They’ll play the Chicago Sky on May 15 with tipoff set for 12 p.m. at the Pavilion.
