A robbery and assault was reported on the University of Minnesota’s West Bank Saturday evening, according to a University of Minnesota Police Department timely warning.

UMPD responded to the incident at 19th Ave. S. and 4th St. S. around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the victim, two suspects followed him from West Bank Grocery to a bus stop west of the University’s Carlson School of Management. There, they allegedly punched him in the face. When the victim fell to the ground, a suspect allegedly kicked him and took his cell phone before running west into the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood.

Paramedics treated the victim on the scene, but he refused further treatment.
