After an eighth-place team finish at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational, the women's cross country team jumped from No. 22 to No. 15 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Coaches Poll. For the second consecutive week, Minnesota ranks second in the Midwest Region. It is behind No. 8 Iowa State in the poll.
Junior Molly Kayfes led the Gophers in the meet with a 45th place finish overall. She was followed by senior Laura Docherty, who finished two seconds later. Minnesota had six runners finish in the top-80 at the meet.
Minnesota will rest its top runners this weekend in anticipation for the Big Ten Championships on Nov. 3. The rest of the team will participate in Jack's Twilight Run, which will be held on Saturday at 6:00 at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
