Praying for opinions with merit

Looking up a Bible verse just to get your shot at a football player and the Christian religion in the paper is wrong. Just because players pray before the game starts does not mean they are hypocrites: We have the freedom of religion. The player wasnâÄôt doing anything wrong and the University of Minnesota apologized to him for GoldyâÄôs actions, but one recent letter writer found it necessary to insult a player for practicing his religion. Last week, it was picking on the Jews and Israel; now it is picking a verse from the Bible out of context to insult a football player for practicing his religion. I hope that The Minnesota Daily has space for opinions with real merit, not uninformed, inaccurate ones. Daniel Friedrichs University undergraduate student
