Minnesota native Joey King will transfer to the Gophers basketball team from Drake University, the forward tweeted Sunday.
"Ive accepted a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Minnesota. Could not be more excited to be a gopher. !" King's tweet read.
The 6-foot-9-inch forward starred at Eastview High School in Eagan, Minn., averaging 23.9 points and six rebounds as a senior in 2011-12.
King averaged 6.9 points and 2.9 rebounds as a freshman at Drake. He's known for his outside shot — he made 33 of 95 three-pointers last season — but lacks the physical presence of most big men in the Big Ten.
