Blind surveillance cameras

DoesnâÄôt it seem that despite the UniversityâÄôs efforts to reduce crime around campus, it keeps getting worse? Even with 900 surveillance cameras placed throughout campus, the burglary rate keeps on rising. On-campus burglaries have increased 25 percent from 2007. In fact, one of my friends just had her apartment broken into and her laptop stolen. What exactly is the point of these 900 cameras when the University doesnâÄôt use them to catch burglars? Although the University has taken an initiative to reduce the issue at hand, it clearly has not been enough. ThatâÄôs why I believe the University should go one step further and actually use the system they have in place. Imagine what they could achieve if they put in a little extra effort.
