Former Gophers commit Alvin Ellis committed to Michigan State on Wednesday.

"Proud to be apart of the Spartan family! #SpartanNation #GoGreen," Ellis tweeted Wednesday evening.

Ellis decommitted from Minnesota and reopened his recruitment shortly after the Gophers fired coach Tubby Smith last month. 

Ellis is a listed as a three-star recruit by most recruiting websites. He averaged 20 points, six rebounds and four assists at DeLaSalle High School in Chicago.
