The Minneapolis Institute of Arts named Robert Cozzolino its new curator of paintings Monday, according to a press release from their website.
Cozzolino will be leaving his current position as the curator of modern art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, where he has worked since 2004, according to the release.
During his time at PAFA, Cozzolino curated over 30 exhibitions, according to MinnPost.
Other Mia faculty have expressed excitement for Cozzolino to join the team and look forward to the experience he will bring, ArtNews said in a report.
“He has emphasized alternative traditions in American art and in Modernism, an approach he will continue at Mia,” Mia said in their release.
Cozzolino will assume his position March 1, 2016, the release said.
