New York publishing conglomirate Condé Nast Publications, owner of The New Yorker, Vouge and Wired among others, will soon be cutting its Gourmet, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride and Cookie magazines. WHERE AM I GOING TO GET MY COOKIE NEWS?!?!
The move came as an effort to save costs in an industry which, like the rest of print, has been somewhat struggling to stay profitable. Condé Nast has made cuts in the past – such as when Men’s Vouge was absorbed into Vogue last October – but the biggest shock of this most recent cut was the complete discontinuation of Gourmet which in some circles, I’m told, has created quite a stir. No pun intended.
