Gophers pitchers keep racking up the accolades.
This week, it's junior DJ Snelten.
The 6-foot-7 lefthander was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week on Monday, just a day after throwing a one-hit shutout in a 1-0 victory over Ohio State.
All three of Snelten's pitches were working yesterday, and he completed the game throwing just 86 of them. He struck out seven Buckeyes hitters and walked one.
The lone hit against Snelten was an infield single that deflected off his glove in the third inning.
Minnesota pitchers have won the honor in five of eight weeks. Junior Tom Windle and sophomore Ben Meyer have earned the award twice apiece.
