Gophers ace TJ Oakes was named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week for his Friday outing versus the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The 6-foot-5 junior righthander tossed seven innings of scoreless ball to help Minnesota to a 1-0 win over the Panthers, his second win of the season.
Oakes has yet to allow a run in two starts this year. The weekly honor is the second of his career. He earned his other as a freshman on May 17, 2010.
