Health board elects

Fairview Health Services’ board of directors elected David R. Page chief executive officer and president Monday.
Page’s appointment concludes a seven-month search to replace Richard Norling, who left the Minneapolis-based health system last fall for a position at the San Diego-based Premier Inc.
Page will join Fairview on July 1, leaving his post as chief operating officer at Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston.
He was also administrator at Hermann Hospital, the fourth-largest hospital in Houston and the primary teaching hospital for the University of Texas-Houston Medical School.
As Fairview’s CEO, Page will oversee the system’s seven hospitals statewide. The system includes the former University Hospital, now Fairview-University Medical Center.
Dr. Frank Cerra, senior vice president of the Academic Health Center and one of seven University administrators on Fairview’s 34-member board of directors, notified University faculty members and administrators of the appointment via e-mail Monday morning.
