A lone finalist has been announced in the search for the next University of Minnesota Athletics Director.
University President Eric Kaler announced Wednesday morning that Mark Coyle was poised to become the school’s next leader of Gophers athletics.
From 2001 to 2005, Coyle, was the University’s associate athletics director for external relations, where he managed marketing, sales, communications, the ticket office and licensing.
Coyle, 47, resigned as Syracuse University’s director of athletics Wednesday after less than one year on the job. He has also served as Boise State University’s athletics director and the University of Kentucky’s deputy athletics director.
Coyle visited campus Wednesday to interview with the search committee and meet with coaches and school officials.
