Best dressed: Oscar recap

by Micaela Resh

Who wore what.

Award season this year made strides for creative works, social activism and fashion. The Oscars, on Feb. 22 was filled with Oscar-worthy red carpet looks.

For overall trends, actresses opted for feminine silhouettes in simple colors and cuts…but detailed in beading and stitching.

Here are my top three looks of the night.

Actress Emma Stone is wearing Elie Saab. This gown is modest, yet adds a splash with the high thigh slit. The gold tone is perfection against her red hair and pale skin. On trend with other attendees, her matching shoe adds to the look without being overly matchy-matchy.

Actress Lupita Nyong’o is wearing a custom Calvin Klein Collection and Chopard diamond drop earrings. The bead work is impeccable, and the ivory toned fabric is absolutely stunning against her skin.

Actress Jennifer Aniston is wearing Atelier Versace. The lines of her gown are figure flattering, and highlight her body in all the right ways. Her simple hair and barely-there shoes exude an understated elegance.
