Eric Carter, a wide receiver from Lake Gibson High School in Lakeland, Fla., has committed to the Gophers, according to a tweet sent from his Twitter account late Sunday night.
"Officially Committed To The University of Minnesota!" Carter tweeted.
Carter had offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Purdue, and Missouri among others, but he chose Minnesota. The 5-foot-10-inch, 174-pound high school senior is a three-star recruit and runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash, according to Rivals.com.
Carter joins an otherwise mediocre 2013 recruiting class for the Gophers with no recruit rated higher than a three-star in the Rivals.com rankings. Carter previously committed to Cincinnati in June, but he backed out of his commitment a month later.
