There really haven't been any surprises on National Signing Day for the Gophers. Still, that doesn't mean there hasn't been a shortage of excitement on the recruiting front.
Minnesota locked up Washburn High School running back Jeff Jones early Wednesday morning. Jones, the No. 1 recruit in the state, announced his decision in front of the entire student body at Washburn High School.
That committment from Jones bolsters the Gophers recruiting class, which currently ranks 49th in the nation.
Jones, the new poster child of head coach Jerry Kill's recruting class, joins 19 other recruits that signed national letters of intent Wednesday. There are also eights preferred walk ons that have signed acceptance of admission letters.
