Gophers volleyball middle blocker Tori Dixon earned the Big Ten Conference's Defensive Player of the Week award Monday.

In the Gophers' four-set loss at Penn State and five-set win at Ohio State this weekend, Dixon recorded 18 blocks, averaging two per set. She had a career-high 11 blocks against the Nittany Lions and seven against the Buckeyes.

Dixon also made an impact offensively. She hit .457 on the weekend and .542 against Ohio State.

This is Dixon's second defensive award of the season and her career. She last won Sept. 3.

Minnesota will play at Michigan and Michigan State next weekend.
