Pearl Jam frontman and flannel aficionado Eddie Vedder will be making a stop in Minneapolis July 2nd in support of his forthcoming album, “Ukulele Songs.” It may not be the raucous sort of material one would expect from a rock figurehead as Vedder, but this adorably tranquil picture backs it up. Vedder is no stranger to homegrown instrumentals. His soundtrack for Sean Penn’s 2007 film, “Into the Wild,” shows a knack for comparatively stripped down strings. Glen Hansard of The Swell Season will also be touring in support. Tickets go on sale April 1st at 1:00 p.m. “Ukulele Songs” will hit stores and digital retailers (I’ve always wanted to use that phrase) on May 31st.
