Minnesota dove into the water for the first time since Jan. 27 looking to start the 2018 women’s Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio, with positive results.
The Gophers broke program records in the 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Zoe Avestruz, Lindsey Kozelsky, Danielle Nack and Tevyn Waddell won the silver medal, finishing in 1:35.06. Indiana won the gold medal, finishing in 1:34.16.
Another Minnesota relay team of Avestruz, Danielle Nack, Chantal Nack and Mackenzie Padington won the silver medal in the 800-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 1:44.40.
The 2018 women’s Big Ten Championships will conclude on Saturday.
