The Big Ten conference named Gophers outside hitter Katherine Harms its Player of the Week on Monday.
The senior earned the title after Minnesota split its series in Texas on Thursday and Friday. Harms tallied a .333 hitting percentage and averaged 4.5 kills, 2.5 digs and 0.6 blocks per set. Harms also recorded double-digit statistics in offensive and defensive categories Thursday, leading the team with 24 kills and making 13 digs.
This is Harms' first Big Ten honor. The last Minnesota player to be named the conference’s player of the week was outside hitter Ashley Wittman last season. A week ago, junior middle blocker Tori Dixon was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
