The. U.S. women's basketball team earned another win Wednesday. defeating Turkey 89-58.
Turkey kept up with the U.S. during the first quarter, trailing by only three points. The U.S. outscored Turkey by more than 10 points in the second quarter and held its lead from there. The Americans again pulled away late in the game, scoring 15 points more than Turkey in the fourth quarter.
Former Gophers guard Lindsay Whalen tallied 14 points and two assists in 18 minutes. Her Minnesota Lynx teammates Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore played 19 and 16 minutes, respectively. Augustus scored nine points with one assist, and Moore had five points and two assists. The three continued their roles as substitutes.
The U.S. will play the Czech Republic on Friday before facing the only other undefeated team in its group, China, on Sunday.
