Softball: Women 2-2 heading into final day of tournament

The Gophers softball team is 2-2 heading into the final day of the Stanford Louisville Slugger Classic. Minnesota split its games Saturday ­­- a 9-7 loss to Stanford and a 4-2 win over Pacific.

The Gophers had the same results against both teams Friday. Minnesota beat Pacific 1-0 and fell 2-1 in extra innings to Stanford.

On Saturday, pitcher Sara Moulton went the distance, giving allowing an earned run on seven hits. She struck out five and walked one batter.

Kelsey Kimminau took the loss against Stanford, allowing four earned runs on four hits. Stanford scored nine times in the opening frame. Kaitlyn Richardson hit a 3-run homer in the loss.
