The U.S. women's basketball team defeated Angola 90-38 Monday in London.
The Americans outscored their African opponents by at least 10 points every quarter. The team also won all statistical categories.
Former Gophers guard Lindsay Whalen and her Minnesota Lynx teammates Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus again started on the bench, but each contributed some minutes to the game.
In Whalen's nearly 21 minutes on the court, she scored nine points and had four assists. Augustus and Moore both spent about 19 minutes on the floor. Augustus had 13 points and two assists while Moore tallied 11 points and four assists.
The defending Olympic champion Americans will face Turkey on Wednesday.
