Women’s basketball crushes Illinois-Chicago

The Minnesota women’s basketball team dominated Illinois-Chicago on Saturday night from start to finish, winning 94-58.

The Gophers finally got their shooting on track, hitting .596 from the field, including .429 from behind the three-point line.  Minnesota also had a solid game defensively, holding Illinois-Chicago to just .361 shooting while getting 18 steals and five blocks.

Minnesota had four players break into double figures.  Ashley Ellis-Milan had a game-high 16 points, Kiara Buford had 15 points and Brittany McCoy had 13 points.  Leah Cotton provided solid minutes for the Gophers late in the game, coming off the bench to score 11.

The Gophers now move on to face Colorado at Williams Arena on Sunday night. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
