Old Dutch Foods announced Thursday it has signed on for the next five years as a charitable contributor to Gophers women’s athletics.
During the length of partnership, Old Dutch will contribute $150,000 to the women’s athletics department to help fund the Gophers women’s hockey program and a designated scholarship.
The commitment to women’s athletics is part of a University-wide affiliation with Old Dutch. For the next three years, the company will be the exclusive supplier of “salty snack products” at the University.
“Old Dutch’s gift makes a significant impact in the much needed funding source for the Gophers women’s hockey program, and comes at a time of great public interest,” women’s athletics director Chris Voelz said. “We look forward to a long-lasting relationship with Old Dutch.”
Paulson enters rankings
Despite not wrestling in a match this season, Gophers’ 118-pounder Brandon Paulson entered the latest Amateur Wrestling News rankings at No. 12.
Paulson, a former Olympic silver medalist, retired from the Gophers wrestling team after last season with one year of eligibility remaining. He recently came out of retirement and will wrestle for Minnesota at the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments in March.
