Former Gophers head football coach Tim Brewster has been hired as the receivers coach at Mississippi State, the Clairon-Ledger reported Thursday.

Brewster was a last-minute hire after previous coach Angelo Mirando resigned Sunday for "unforeseen personal issues.”

Brewster compiled a 15-29 record in his four seasons with the Gophers. He was fired after a 1-6 start to the 2010 season.
