Three observations:
1. Springs continues to excel
Guard Akeem Springs was the leading
scorer last game with 19 points and this game he has 11 already. A strength for
Springs has been the 3-pointer. He has gone 3-5 from behind the arc so far.
2. Allsmiller keeping the game close.
Jake Allsmiller has eight points for Georgia Southern. Allsmiller
has two 3-pointers in 12 minutes of play. If Georgia Southern wants to keep the
game closer, the team will have to rely more on 3-point shooting.
3. Gophers winning the
rebounding battle. Minnesota came into the matchup with an advantage in
size and it has shown so far. The Gophers are out-rebounding the Eagles 22-18.
Bakary Konate is Minnesota’s leading rebounder with five boards at halftime.
