Gophers land two more recruits

Junior college reciever Hayo Carpenter and cornerback Kerry Lewis committed over the weekend

Since their shocking loss to Northwestern on Saturday, two players have committed to the Gophers football team. Four-star junior college receiver Hayo Carpenter and three-star cornerback Kerry Lewis both committed over the weekend, according to ranked Carpenter, out of College of the Canyons in California, as the 11th best junior college recruit in the country. He will have plenty of competition at the receiver position, after the Gophers brought in five receivers in their 2008 class âÄîXzavian Brandon, Brandon Green, DaâÄôJon McKnight, Brandon Randolph and Brodrick Smith. The Gophers donâÄôt have any senior receivers, either. “I really don’t know what type of impact I will make on the field,âÄù Carpenter told âÄúI believe I can add some maturity to the young receivers we have on the team and help them reach their potential.
