The Minnesota women's swimming and diving team again swept the Big Ten conference awards Tuesday. The Gophers first swept Oct. 9.
Kierra Smith earned the not only the Freshman of the Week title but also the Swimmer of the Week. Against Kansas on Saturday, Smith won the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 medley relay. Her 200 breaststroke time of two minutes, 14.54 seconds was a meet record and NCAA provisional qualifying mark. This is Smith's first Swimmer of the Week honor but her second Freshman of the Week honor after she won last week.
Junior Sarah McCrady garnered the Diver of the Week award for the second time this season and in her career. She last won Oct. 9. McCrady won 3-meter diving in Kansas with a score of 322.92 and came in second in 1-meter with a score of 278.85. Both of her scores were NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks.
Both the men's and women's teams will host Wisconsin on Friday.
